What is Utility Installation?
Utility installation is a term used to cover the fitting of many types of utility including water & gas. Utilities are often essential so it’s very important that they are properly protected by ducting. One way for utilities to be installed is known as impact moling. You can read more about this process here. More information on ducting and its installation can be found below.
Underground Water Supply
Introducing a new water supply or rerouting one is often an essential part of any construction project. The most suitable methods for installation are unique to each project. The most common way to get a water supply comes from connecting a service pipe from the water main onto your property. These pipes will be housed in blue ducting to comply with UK regulations. It’s important these pipes sit at a depth of at least 600mm (two feet) underground to avoid freezing.
What is Ducting?
Ducting refers to the outer pipes that house utilities such as power, water & gas. Ducting is crucial in the protection of these essentials and they also use a colour coded system to ensure that maintenance of these utilities is as easy as possible.
Ducting Installation
There are many questions people have when it comes to ducting installation. What requirements do you need to follow? What colour ducting is appropriate? How deep should ducting be buried? The colour and strength of your ducting will be chosen by our experts in accordance with UK standardisation. Our experienced engineers know exactly what materials to use and all the regulations involved in optimum placement. Piping colour is chosen so there won’t be any confusion as to which utility is within the ducting.
